Given the information that appeared in the international press today, I am announcing my departure from Texas Central.
I am immensely proud of the accomplishments of OUR team, which has achieved, among many other accomplishments, end-to-end regulatory approvals for the first true high-speed rail project in our country’s history. This was a most conscientious and complex undertaking, carefully addressing the concerns of landowners, stakeholders and providing opportunities for all sectors of our society, a true FIRST for American infrastructure.
Texas Central’s staff has grown from a small start-up to an interdisciplinary, integrated team of experts that has become a true industry leader worldwide, attracting the best of the best talent from Texas, USA and the world to carry out this project. properly.
Most of the “graduates” of our efforts will go on to contribute to our economy through their roles in other businesses. Eventually, this team could implement this desperately needed project to improve safety, reduce traffic, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and connect two of the most important metro centers in the country with the most advanced train service. available. I will never forget your ethics, talent, dedication and sheer resilience through it all!
I am also very proud of the convening power we have been able to acquire, attracting the best companies in the high-speed rail sector around the world to compete for key roles in this landmark project, ensuring that the design base , costs and business and operating plans were second to none.
While I cannot align our current stakeholders with a common vision for the way forward, I wish the project every success and remain convinced of the importance of this endeavor to the safety and prosperity of ALL Texans.
I will be announcing the next steps soon, but I wanted to take the time to thank not only our shareholders and my dedicated team at Texas Central, but also all of the tireless supporters of the project: Mayor Sylvester Turner, Mayor Eric Johnson, Mayor Karl Mooney, U.S. Congressman Eddie Bernice Johnson, U.S. Congressman Kay Granger, U.S. Congressman Colin Allred, U.S. Congressman Seth Moulton, Texas State Senator Royce West, Rep. State of Texas Yvonne Davis, NCTCOG Transportation Director, Michael Morris, GHP CEO Bob Harvey, Chambers of Commerce and so many other political and business leaders in Texas and beyond.
Texas and the United States deserve the best transportation options, and I’m confident that over time, those will become a reality.
We must always remember that when the United States is focused on achieving goals, no one in the world can match our ability to achieve them. It’s how World War II, the war to save democracy, was won, how our Apollo program got our astronauts to and from the Moon, and how we’re still at the forefront of technological innovation in the whole world.
We can do it. VALLEY
