WILLIAMSBURG — Do you know how to drive a bus? The Williamsburg Area Transit Authority would like to speak with you.
Tomorrow and Wednesday, WATA is hosting a bus operator fair at its admin office located at 7239 Pocahontas Trail. Full-time and part-time positions are available.
“This job fair is a great opportunity for job seekers new to public transport or those who have been driving for years,” said Iyanla XO, Marketing and Administration Specialist at WATA.
Tomorrow, the career fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday. On-site interviews are available on both days.
The company is looking for drivers with a Virginia B CDL license or CDL permit.
WATA is Virginia’s sole transit authority and provides more than 840,000 rides annually to tourists and citizens. Bus routes can be found in Williamsburg, Newport News, York County and James City County.
Tourists are finally returning and WATA is poised for growth in a post-lockdown world.
“We are living in exciting times at WATA as we seek to expand and grow our transit services,” XO said.
Interested bus drivers can go to the James City County Career Center website or WATA’s Indeed publication.
