It’s full speed ahead for Belleville Transit as it prepares for the launch of an all-new bus service in the Thurlow neighborhood the day after Labor Day.

On Wednesday evening, the Transit Advisory Committee approved Thurlow Route, known as Route 9.

It will provide a 45-minute round-trip service from the built section of Thurlow to the Walmart-Quinte Mall, connecting several other city routes.

Director of Transit Operations Paul Buck.

“We will be posting the schedule for every bus stop at every stop just to help new riders get used to the service and schedules so they know when to expect us.”

A public information campaign on Route 9 will begin soon and bus stops will be installed during the summer.

The specialized door-to-door mobility bus service will also operate in Thurlow.

Route 9 has several stops along Bell Boulevard, including the Quinte Mall, and on Millennium Parkway, including Walmart.

New stops are at Home Depot, Cloverleaf Drive, Maitland Drive, Thurlow Drive, Kempton Avenue, Hampton Ridge, Bird Park, McDougall Drive, Gavey Street, Cox Drive, Mineral Drive, Simcoe Drive, Laurel Street, Redwood Street, Mountain Ash Drive , Chestnut Drive, Kipling Drive, Farnham Road, Cannifton Road, Ro’s General Store and Black Diamond Road.
