Tell Hong Kong’s story with Star Ferry through the lens

TO celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the 125th anniversary of Star Ferry Co. Ltd., Star Ferry announces the launch of the “2022 Star Ferry Photo Contest” and welcomes people from all over the world to share their encounters with Star Ferry through the lens.

Star Ferry’s Managing Director, David Chow, said: “Through the competition, we invite people to share their encounters with Star Ferry in different contexts with a view to telling the beautiful story of Hong Kong together, reflecting the rich historical value from Star Ferry.

There are two categories: photo and video, which are now open for entries until July 31, 2022. Persons aged 16 or over may submit a maximum of three photos and/or one video via the Star Ferry website www .starferry.com.hk. Prizes include a stay at The Murray, Hong Kong; a limited-edition 1:110 scale Star Ferry model; and the One Year Pass or Star Ferry Commemorative Memorabilia. The winning works will be exhibited by a traveling exhibition on the Star Ferry docks. The results will be announced via the Star Ferry website in September 2022.

Jury members include Olivia Cheng, advanced golf coach and multimedia art creator; Henry Fung, Lecturer, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Hong Kong Metropolitan University; Benny Li, media veteran and photography enthusiast; William Tang, renowned fashion designer and photography enthusiast; Chan Hing-ka, director; Ringo Tang, multimedia visual artist; and Noel Wong, documentary producer and jury member of the New York Festivals TV and Film Awards.
