Woman died in road accident 2

UPDATE 11/23/21 at 9 p.m.

MASON COUNTY, West Virginia (WSAZ) – A woman died Tuesday night in a frontal crash on National Highway 2 in the Gallipolis Ferry area, according to West Virginia State Police.

Mallory Greenlee, 37, of Gallipolis Ferry, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Sgt. Joe Finnicum said the call arrived around 5:45 p.m.

State Police said Greenlee was in his Chevrolet Impala, en route south, when it collided head-on with a pickup truck heading north.

The driver of the van was airlifted to a hospital in Huntington.

State Police say one of the vehicles is believed to have crossed the center line, but are not yet saying which one.

Traffic on Route 2 was interrupted for three hours while the scene was being processed. A lane reopened shortly before 9 p.m.

State police said they were not aware of any witnesses.

A man working nearby heard the crash and said it sounded like a bomb.

MASON COUNTY, West Virginia (WSAZ) – A traffic accident Tuesday night closed part of National Route 2 in the Gallipolis Ferry area, according to Mason County 911 dispatchers.

The accident was reported around 5:45 p.m. in the Huntington Road area.

Dispatchers say they were two vehicles.

Our team at the scene said traffic was slowed down for miles and also reported a car on the roof on the side of the road.

There is no word at this time on the extent of the injuries involved.
